Kitchen +Who the hell's counting anymorere

We had the tankless water heater finally hooked up. Before that, we had some pretty tough times with the plumber. If your plumber ever looks like the guy in the photo with Kathleen, or if your plumber's name is "Keith", fire him immediately.Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usGood news is that the tankless works really well, and we'll get a $300 tax credit on our Federal income tax.

Getting the third window (farthest on the right) turned out to be a major hassle. When we bought the house, it came with these really nice Uniframe windows, but we didn't realize that those didn't come with a local distributor. I called the manufacturer back and worked directly with a sales rep who was setting up an Austin local dealer. Long story short, 5 weeks later (which was 3 weeks more that it should have been), I'm driving 50 miles with a big box strapped to the top of my Outback. Inside the box was the window. It is a really nice box.

After the window was installed, things started to happen a bit. We got some plumbing done and some insulation in, and some drywall went up. It was nice to see progress.Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us
That was the standard view, and here's a view from the door to the patio. Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us You can see the pantry and to the far right is where the refridgerator will go.

Many nights followed, where our home was late night invaded by plumbers trying to get the gas lines correct or whatever. I was finally told that I could do laundry, so I did a load. Once the washing machine got to the drain-cycle, I had water spewing out of every open pipe in the place. Fortunately, we didn't have any cabinets installed or anything, but man, I was hot. That got fixed.

And we finally had our cabinets installed. Yea! Today, painting is going on, and hopefully some tiling and electrical work. I kinda doubt that the electrical work will happen until tomorrow. I'm really hoping for a Wednesday Nov 22 near-finish date. I want everything done that we can have done. Undercabinet lights, the hood, appliances installed. Everything. We still don't have a door separating the laundry room from the kitchen (its on order) and we don't have the countertops yet (they've been measured and we're just waiting)

This has sucked. Big time. But we're close.
